Our Story

Richardson Tree and Landscape Co. Inc. began as an owner/operator company servicing residential customers in the Lawrence and Mercer County area of Western PA. As a start-up company the only equipment was a 1978 F350 stake body truck, two chain saws, and climbing gear. The owner used his experience in rock climbing, coupled with many years of nursery and landscape work to transition into tree care. Shortly after it’s humble beginning in 1996, the company joined what was then the National Arborist Association. Through the association and real world experience the owner began to develop the skills and knowledge to become a leader in the local tree care market.

In the years to come, the company saw growth into other markets from Pittsburgh, to the city of Erie. In 2004 the company incorporated and began work on road rights of way as well as municipal infrastructured projects. As the years continued, the company became more adept at government and utility work. Today Richardson Tree and Landscape Co. Inc. concentrates almost entirely on rights of way and infrastructure vegetation management.

Current, and recent projects include trimming and clearing for heavy highway, pipeline, electrical, airport, and site development. Various equipment including off road land clearing equipment, to aerial lifts are utilized to manage the particular needs of the customer. From several hundred acre clearing projects to utility lines clearance, to specialized trimming and planting. Our company has the ability and experience to safely and efficiently complete the project. Yearly revenue averages 5 million in vegetation management. The company has approximately 45 employees and 10 million in equipment assets dedicated to providing excellent service.

The company has been a member of the Tree Care Industry Association since it’s inception. Other affiliations include Better Business Bureau, Manufactures Association, PA Farm Bureau, and PEC Safety. The company is OSHA and MSHA regulated and compliant. Among the staff are personnel with over twenty years experience in lines clearance, timbering, forestry, and horticulture. Supporting the infield crews is a management team that includes the original owner/president, office personnel, safety manager, fleet manager, and a full service shop with mechanics and service trucks.

The company motto of safety, quality, efficiency has been the underlining basis of operations from 1996 to present day.
